Orange Polska is DevMuster Hackathon's partner

On April 7-8, the third edition of DevMuster Hackathon took place at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology - an event bringing together supporters of creating computer programs and mobile applications. Nearly 50 young developers took part in this year's meeting. For 24 hours they have been working hard to create a unique mobile security program or application. Orange Polska was one of the partners for the Hackathon, and also sponsor of the awards.

The coders finally presented 10 projects. The ten-member Jury consisting of representatives from Orange Research and Development Center, and companies such as Samsung, DaftCode, Simple and Infullmobile appreciated, and awarded 2 most interesting projects. The winning solution was a program designed to protect e-mail accounts. The second place was taken by a mobile application used to eliminate hazards on the road. The application, using a smartphone (located on the windscreen) recognizes license plates of other vehicles and informs us about the potential danger from inattentive drivers. It is based on access via the API to the information provided on the social portal tablica-rejestracyjna.pl.

During the event, participants were able to receive expert advice from Orange Polska employees, and had a chance to get acquainted with the international program Imagine with Orange, which was presented by Magda Hamada - Garwolinska. Magda talked about how the platform works, and presented the topics of ongoing campaigns.
