What kind of information could the sensors transmit? And to whom?


The sensor will be activated when an unseal position is detected like upside and down of the car or extensive rolling ( Position Sensor and Linear Positional Sensors) and in case of intensive crash another sensor will be activated to send data (like exact place of car) to nearest hospital,police.

Do you have an idea of the cost of such sensor? Could it be added in any car, plug and play, as simply as an Airbox Auto?


Such solutions exist today and there are many vendors. It's a smartphone app that uses g sensors from your phone, but it's not very accurate neither relevant. Better are the devices that are firmly secured to your car and plugged on a DC supply. Those generally use the widely existing OBD socket (all cars in Europe since 2002 (gas) and 2004 (diesel). These devices commonly named OBD dongles have 3 axis g sensors, a GPS and a SIM card to connect to networks indepe,datly from the driver's phone. Some of them (very few) can also read telematics data from the CAN bus and report when airbags are blown up...
The EC estimates 5000 lives could be saved / year in Europe alone, provided all cars were efficiently equipped to detect and report serious car incident or manual call for emergency life assistance...
